BUSINESS ANALYST – INTERN

With summer break around the corner, we’re looking for a candidate who’s ready for the real education to begin through our inaugural intern program.

Position Summary
The Viewpost Business Analyst – Intern (aka Newbie) will provide critical support in the areas of business intelligence and competitor research & analysis. This position requires outstanding communications skills, solid business acumen and keen analytical skills. You will advise and collaborate with user interface designers on global best practices and operational solutions. That said, we are seeking someone who will build upon and expand the position’s responsibilities rather than accepting the status quo (because, frankly, we’re out to flatten the status quo).

Responsibilities

  1. Work with development team to gather, define and document business and system requirements.
  2. Research & leverage industry best practices related to business intelligence, metrics, dashboards, and reporting.
  3. Provide requirements support during the design, development, and testing phases of a project including writing user stories.
  4. Effectively present project status updates, reports, process flow and recommendations to senior executives and large peer groups.
  5. Author technical documentation related to both the product and to our internal processes.
  6. Assist with comprehensive analysis of metrics.
  7. Assist with data architecture, reporting & mining methods.
  8. Troubleshoot issues that arise during project lifecycle.
  9. Observe the business environment and assist with internship position design & responsibilities based on the needs of the company and colleagues.
  10. Contribute in all areas to ensure operational success and client satisfaction.

Education & Skills

  • Currently enrolled in highly regarded college or university
  • Minimum grade point average of 3.0
  • Preferred field of study includes business, accounting or finance
  • High level proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Basic proficiency with accounting packages such as QuickBooks, Microsoft
  • Dynamics GP, Accpac, etc. is preferred
  • Often asked to calculate the tip for your group’s bill when eating out with your friends*

*Having friends is not a requirement, but is highly recommended so you have people close to you who’ll witness your meteoric acquisition of knowledge and experience
