Speaker Bio:
Duncan has 16 years of experience leading and financing technology startups. Before cofounding VeloBit, Duncan served as CEO & Cofounder of Cilk Arts, a multicore solution vendor that was acquired by Intel. Prior to Cilk Arts, Duncan spent 10 years in the venture capital industry as a General Partner at Bessemer Venture Partners and Flagship Ventures. Duncan was an early investor and board member in 17 early-stage companies that produced 10 acquisitions and an aggregate market capitalization in excess of $1.5 billion. His investments included BuyerZone (acquired by Reed), DataCore Software, Datasage (Vignette), E-Dialog (GSI Commerce), Streambase, Vertica (HP), and Yantra (Sterling Commerce). Duncan currently serves on the board of mobile applications vendor Localytics. Before joining the venture capital industry, Duncan was at Haemonetics where he served as Assistant to the CEO, ran marketing for their largest division, and started a new service business. He spent his early career at Draper Laboratory as Senior Member of Technical Staff and Program Manager. Duncan holds a BS and MS from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MBA with Distinction from Harvard Business School.

Position:
The Product Marketing Manager will report to the VP Online Marketing and will drive messaging, product positioning, demand generation strategy, and will play a strategic role in building a successful market presence for VeloBit. The right candidate will have excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills, be skilled in the modern-day marketing tools, have excellent writing and communication skills, and be capable of defining and executing metrics-driven marketing programs. This is an exciting opportunity to play a strategic role in a successful early stage technology startup company.
Responsibilities:
- Develop messaging and product positioning that differentiates VeloBit in the market
- Create thought leadership content and marketing assets
- Drive awareness through social media, blog, and online presence
- Develop the strategy and manage the execution of marketing demand generation programs
- Develop sales enablement tools and communicate the VeloBit value proposition the sales organization
- Plan the launch of new products and releases and manage the cross-functional execution of the plan
- Market intelligence: and be the expert on customer needs, buyer behavior, and competitive products
Requirements:
- 2-5 years of software product marketing experience
- B.S degree in engineering or computer science; MBA from a top tier university
- Excellent writing, verbal, and customer communications skills
- Excellent analytical and strategic analysis skills
- Proficiency with inbound marketing and marketing automation tools
- Strong people and management skills; Ability to interact with people from all levels of the organization
