Turning Ideas into Companies – Entrepreneurship the Silicon Valley Way
Turning Ideas into Companies – Entrepreneurship the Silicon Valley Way
Tuesday November 27 from 4:30pm to 5:30pm @ Harvard Innovation Lab
Since the development of the first microprocessor, Silicon Valley has been both one of the leading centers of U.S. technology development and a unique environment for turning ideas into reality. For almost forty years, entrepreneurs have formed new ventures, attracted investment capital and build companies known throughout the world. And that process keeps going, with thousands of new ventures being formed every year. But how do they really do it out there, and how can you do it yourself, for that idea you think can change the world?
Herb Fockler has worked with high technology ventures in the Silicon Valley since the early 1980’s. From initial incorporations, though venture capital financings and IPOs, to advising multi-billion dollars public companies, Mr. Fockler has advised hundreds of entrepreneurs, companies and investors in the computer hardware, software, Internet, semiconductor, biotechnology and cleantech industries, including companies such as Dolby Laboratories, Netscape, WordPerfect, Sun Microsystems, Tesla, Silicon Graphics and Earthlink. Mr. Fockler is a partner at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, the premiere legal advisor to high technology and emerging growth companies, along with the financial organizations that invest in and support those companies.
Mr. Fockler will be speaking on the current environment and process for founding and financing new ventures in the Silicon Valley in an interactive format, where questions and discussion will be encouraged.
Sponsored by Wilson Sonsini Goodrich and Rosati.
