Job Description:
Shamrock is looking to hire a full-time Senior Associate in summer 2014 to join our investment team in Los Angeles (Westwood). The Senior Associate role is a partner-track position that will be given significant responsibility leading diligence efforts. Given the size of the organization and the nature of the position, the person filling this role will have the ability to make a large impact on the firm’s performance and culture.
Role / responsibilities include:
· Assessing and analyzing potential new investments, including developing investment theses and leading due diligence efforts, identifying attractive industries and companies, preparing financial analyses and managing advisors/partners on transactions
· Developing and presenting materials synthesizing learnings regarding existing and prospective investments and market trends
· Working with management teams on financial, strategic and operational challenges
· Other functions include participation in annual limited partner conference, limited partner reporting, and associate recruiting
Skillset / background preferred:
· Four to six years of prior work experience – investment banking, consulting and/or private equity experience strongly preferred
· Demonstrated interest in the media, entertainment and communications sectors
· High integrity individual with a positive attitude
· Team player that is hard working, proactive and entrepreneurial
· Analytical thinker with a strong understanding of finance/accounting/valuation concepts
· Clear written and oral communication skills
