*** Please note that the job description below pertains to the Senior Associate role.  The Vice President role would have increased responsibilities beyond the mentioned below.
 
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Senior Associate will be a Post-MBA equivalent role, and will be responsible for providing support to the partners in all aspects of potential and active investments.  The role will be primarily focused on the consumer internet sector.  Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
 
·    Source new early stage investments including meeting with founders and entrepreneurs, attending relevant conferences and networking events, and calling on new prospects.
·    Continue to deepen already existent industry knowledge and contacts to help drive investment strategy and effectively conduct due diligence.
·    Participate in all aspects of due diligence including customer and management references, market sizing and mapping, and industry research.
·    Develop financial models relating to financings, restructurings, valuation analyses and liquidity events.
·    Develop presentation materials for the partnership. This includes developing and refining presentation themes, data gathering and synthesis, and constructing professional presentation materials.
 
QUALIFICATIONS
Four to eight years of total work experience (four years minimum), including:
·    Two years of investment banking or management consulting experience, followed by at least two years of early stage investing experience or two years of operating experience at a high growth consumer internet company.  Alternatively, four+ years of operating experience at a high growth consumer internet company post-undergrad, preferably in a combination of product, marketing, and/or business development roles.
 
·    Ideally, an MBA from an elite business school, or equivalent additional work experience.  Demonstration of superior intellectual horsepower through high test scores and a cumulative undergraduate GPA of at least 3.5. To effectively communicate with early stage entrepreneurs and founders, a technical degree such as CS or EE or equivalent work experience is preferred (but not mandatory).
 
REQUIREMENTS
·    Strong, active ties to startup and VC communities, preferably in the Bay Area.
·    Demonstrated deep interest in consumer internet products, technologies, people and companies.
·    Excellent interpersonal and networking skills with proven ability to develop and maintain effective business relationships.
·    Ability to interpret data and provide relevant conclusions/recommendations.
·    Excellent organizational skills.
·    Ability to work with limited supervision.
·    Ability to articulate ideas in a group setting.
·    Ability to build complex financial models.
·    Ability to write well.
·    Self-starter with strong work ethic.
