Boston VC-funded media start-up at the Harvard Innovation Lab seeks experienced marketing professional to help revolutionize content distribution. We have a working product, backing from key industry leaders, money in the bank, and strong momentum with our first pilot customers. Now it’s time to hit the gas pedal.
You must be personable, results-driven, and have good business sense. Ultimately, it will be up to you to get our product into the hands of new customers and to drive engagement through the roof.
You’ll report to the SVP of Business Development and have daily engagement with the Founders. We expect you to work long hours, be a leader, think on your feet, and take some risks. You’ll get a competitive salary and benefits, but frankly you’ll want the equity.
Experience
Qualified applicants will have extensive experience in multichannel marketing, specifically online marketing, and will have strong quantitative and analytical skills. They will also have experience managing on-the ground marketing teams. Two to four years of relevant business experience is expected and an MBA is not necessary but would be nice to have. A deep interest in the content industry is also valuable.
The Role
The Director of Marketing is responsible for all marketing efforts at Tivli. Key responsibilities include:
- Develop the overall marketing strategy and annual plan
- Assemble and manage on-the-ground marketing teams in specific markets, such as at individual universities
- Execute sophisticated and scalable online marketing campaigns and run experiments
- Track and analyze all campaigns and experiments, and translate insights into even better marketing
As part of a small organization, the Director of Marketing will also be expected to step into other business development roles as needed. These roles could include customer research, user analytics, financial analysis, and sales support.
The Comp
Competitive base financial salary based on experience. Equity and bonus potential available. Tivli does not currently provide benefits such as health care but we will starting in 2013.
