April 24th from 315-415p in Aldrich 107, we’ll have an exciting, informative session on the NYC Startup Scene with Ed Zimmerman, Daniella Yacobovsky and Amy Jain.

Named by AlwaysOn as one of the most important leaders in the NY tech scene, Ed is a prolific angel investor (30 seed deals, including Birch Box, Klout, Appnexus and BaubbleBar) and startup mentor. He is the founder and chair of First Growth Venture Network, an accelerator that brings together mentors with startups to drive growth. By day, he’s the chair of law firm Lowenstein Sandler’s technology practice and also teaches a class at Columbia Business School on venture capital. You can see a few interviews with Ed on Bloomberg and on Bloomberg Radio.

Joining Ed will be Daniella Yacobovsky and Amy Jain, the two founders of BaubleBar. Both women are HBS’10 graduates who conceived of the startup while at school, moved to NYC after graduation and launched their jewelry ecommerce business in December of 2010, raising $1.1m in seed money from Accel.BaubleBar.com was a graduate of First Growth Venture Network in the fall of 2010.

HBS Senior Lecturer and Flybridge General Partner Jeff Bussgang will facilitate the dialog with Ed, Daniella and Amy.
