Title: thredUP Growth PM – Supply

MBA Internship

thredUP is a leading e-commerce marketplace for kids’ and women’s clothing; we have raised $23M+ from Highland, Redpoint, and Trinity, among others.  As we grow the business, we are constantly juggling both the demand and supply sides of the market, and in doing so we’re investing in building out an extraordinary product team.  Currently, users can request thredUP “Clean Out” bags, fill them out, and send us bags full of clothes, but we have also built product features like Groups and Supers to help our users find more ways to send us clothing.

We’re looking for a Growth PM intern to improve these products, as well as think out-of-the-box to brainstorm new ideas.  He/she would be focused on building the supply side of the thredUP business, and would own the product strategy and execution of these Internet/mobile products. 

Responsibilities

  • Craft high-level strategy for products that will help grow the supply side of the business
  • Speak with existing and potential customers to vet ideas and conduct usability testing, and identify the right data to track for new products, and pull/analyze existing data
  • Draw the right conclusion from the qualitative and quantitative data
  • Write product specifications for the design and engineering teams to build
  • Model out the economics (if applicable) for all of these supply-side products
  • Work closely with the Founders and PM to brainstorm and vet ideas
  • Work with design, engineering, and marketing teams to iterate on “stories”

The Ideal Candidate

  • A technical background would give you an edge and cred with engineers
  • Experience working on consumer web products at a start-up would give you cred with the senior leadership team
  • Obsession with Internet/mobile products and strong product intuition/gut
  • Creative, out-of-the-box thinker, with strong business sense
  • Highly quantitative – experience analyzing large data sets is helpful
  • Experience conducting usability testing, customer interviews, etc
  • Be a self-starter – someone that can take direction but also work well without it
  • Deeply believe that thredUP is capable of disrupting an industry and building a household brand. We do.

Qualifications

  • Experience working at a Consumer Internet/Mobile company – if you opted for consulting or banking instead, you must be knee-deep in understanding/following consumer tech products
