University Business Intern: Ecosystem Measurement

The Ecosystem Measurement Team works with ad agencies, third-party developers, and directly with clients to demonstrate the effectiveness of Facebook ads. We’re looking for passionate analysts with strong communication skills and the desire to get out on the front lines of online advertising. The ideal candidate is scrappy, focused on results, and self-motivated. Candidates must have a solid understanding of online advertising and measurement techniques. Knowledge of SQL (or equivalent) is preferred as well as the curiosity and persistence to work with large data sets. Excellent communications and client-interaction skills are essential. Management consulting, ad agency, research industry, or sales experiences are highly valuable. This is a summer internship position based in Menlo Park, California or New York, NY.

Responsibilities

  • Apply your expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data to measure and communicate the effectiveness of online advertising.
  • Identify and partner with industry players such as ad agencies to structure and execute ad effectiveness research.
  • Package these insights effectively for both internal and external audiences.

Requirements

  • Degree in Economics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering, or similar field.
  • Currently enrolled in an MBA or advanced degree program in any of the fields above.
  • 2-4 years’ hands-on data mining / analytics experience with a technology company, consulting firm, or research company.
  • Management consulting experience is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear and effective manner to a broad range of audiences.
  • Strong client-facing presentation skills.
  • Strong quantitative abilities and intuition. Excellent Excel skills required and SQL skills strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of statistical analysis, experience with packages such as R, MATLAB, SPSS, SAS, Stata, etc.
  • Ability to prioritize among conflicting demands in a fluid environment
