about hipmunk:

hipmunk is a remarkable new travel search site that aims to take the agony out of travel planning. we designed our site to help people who are overwhelmed with pages of irrelevant search results. at hipmunk, we want to make your experience a lot better and put the fun back into travel planning.

what we want:

hipmunk is a small company doing big things, and we move at light speed. we are looking for a marketing intern with a voracious appetite for learning, a love for healthy debate and who doesn’t shy away from making decisions using imperfect information. the goal of your time at hipmunk is to leave it a better company. we’re a startup, so your hands will get dirty.

things you’ll do:

1. marketing analytics – you will compile a “master report” analyzing the effectiveness of our user acquisition channels and other important metrics for the company. you will implement a system for sharing this information with the company and our investors on a regular basis.

2. user acquisition – you will research and run tests on a variety of marketing channels with a goal to discover one or more ROI-positive channels.

3. social metrics – you will research brand competitor social metrics [likes, comments, followers, etc.] including sentiment analysis and generate analysis reports.

4. key evangelists/influencer groups – you will research people who can be a strong megaphone for hipmunk, and you will build a system to track and report interactions and communications with these individuals.

skills you have:

● exceptional analytical, written and verbal skills ● loving relationship with online analytics software, especially Google Analytics, Mixpanel, and Wildfire

● self reliance and productive self tasking

● very high attention to detail

● appreciation for debate and discussion without letting ego get in the way

what you’ve got:

● 2-3 years marketing analytics, marketing research or equivalent experience

● acquired or obtaining MBA in economics, marketing, business and/or related fields

● have strong online travel experience

● love to travel and explore the world
