Overview of Role

viagogo – the international ticket exchange – is growing quickly and is looking to hire ambitious, intelligent, and talented people.

The Summer Intern role offers a unique opportunity to take on big responsibilities and directly impact our success. The Summer Intern will be able to help coordinate strategic and operational initiatives critical to the growth and success of viagogo through analytical horsepower, communication skills, leadership and business judgment.

This position is a unique opportunity to work directly with senior executives to identify and solve critical issues the business encounters as it scales. The position is ideal for an individual currently enrolled in a top-tier MBA program with a desire to obtain hands-on entrepreneurial experience within an exciting and fast growing start-up.

Responsibilities

The role will vary depending on business needs, but potential projects could include:

  • Corporate development – provide analytical support in evaluating different strategic opportunities and initiatives across business development, ranging from supply sources to new geographies
  • Financial analysis – effectively analyze the business by segment while also evaluating key partnerships
  • Distribution – explore a diverse range of distribution channels and present key findings to senior management
  • Operational – proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of processes across different business lines

Skills and Attributes

  • Organized and reliable with attention to detail – can handle multiple simultaneous tasks and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills – can provide clear, fact-based direction for a range of business issues touching a variety of functional areas
  • Financial acumen and modeling skills – can pull-together analyses from back-of-the-envelope market sizing to full P&L projections
  • Strong technical acumen: General knowledge of how websites work, e.g., server/client side, HTML, JavaScript; Ability to understand APIs and what they require and allow, e.g., Twitter API; Comfortable with extracting and analyzing data from databases
  • Outstanding written and oral communication
  • High degree of creativity, curiosity, and optimism
  • A sense of humor and positive, “make-it-work” attitude
  • Must be eligible to work in the US

Experience

  • 1-3 years of experience at a top-tier strategy consulting firm, investment bank, or private equity firm. Also willing to consider similar candidates with prior M&A, partnership development or strategy/business development experience
  • Note that this position is designed as a summer internship for current top-tier MBA students
  • B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering preferred. Other engineering, quantitative and hard sciences backgrounds will also be considered

Compensation

  • Compensation will cover cost of living
