Business Development Associate

Yelp’s organic model has enabled us to grow quickly with few commercial partnerships, but there are incredible opportunities ahead for Yelp to work with others. We’re seeking an exceptional business development candidate to help build relationships across the industry, negotiate strategic partnerships and become a key member of the Yelp’s team.
Responsibilities
- Work directly for the head of Business Development at Yelp, and work in all areas of partnerships at Yelp
- Support new strategic partnerships to expand Yelp traffic and/or revenue
- Support and as your career grows, take the lead on some deals, managing each step from strategy/planning, pipeline development, prospecting, outreach, terms negotiation, contract drafting and negotiation, and product implementation
- Conduct market research and devise strategy
- Work on our developer’s program for content sharing (yelp.com/developers)
Requirements
- Minimum 3-4 years experience in BD, product, consulting or finance
- Technology and/or entrepreneurial background
- Computer science or engineering degree preferred (or equivalent foundational knowledge), but not required
- Experience in one of the following domains, either through direct experience or partnership experience, is helpful: local websites, mobile, revenue
- Outstanding communication skills in all forms: written, conversational, negotiations, presenting
- Abundance of patience with long deal cycles and changing internal priorities
- Strong business/finance fundamentals
- Passion for networking and strategic deal making
- Some travel – up to 7 days per month
